Umbian’s Compliance Engine is a secure, web-based platform designed to allow various stakeholders to define, administer and execute on their compliance programs. A broad scale application, Compliance Engine is built to serve a variety of industries and circumstances.

The core of the engine can be leveraged for any compliance program, and consists of reusable components such as:

There are three user levels within the Compliance Engine. Roles and respective definitions are as follows:

Participant: An individual employee participating in the compliance program. This level user can view his/her own compliance metrics and usage history.
Manager: The organizational manager of individual Participants. This user level has access to all of his/her managed employees.
Assessor: The assessment personnel (i.e. Company Safety Group personnel, etc) assigned to a specific compliance program. This user level has access to all Participants under his/her review.

At a high level, the Compliance Engine functions as follows:

Obtain Data: Pertinent compliance program data such as usage statistics, etc., is obtained from a specific device or data source.
Apply Rules to the Data: Rules are defined within the application to set the compliance standards for an organization. Rules can be usage or duration based. Rules are then executed against usage data on a daily basis, and a compliance score is generated for each employee, showing near real-time results.
Send Notifications: Notifications via phone call, text message and/or email can be sent to employees who have violated one or multiple rules and are therefore scored to be out of compliance. Notifications are used to remind employees of their commitment to a certain program and to motivate them back into compliance. Notifications can also be sent to others involved in the compliance program, such as managers or organizational safety groups.
Reporting: Raw data, notification events and overall compliance scores are available in a series of secure web-based charts and reports for both employees and organizations.
